Check for a preset waiver first

Some sports have a preset waiver field containing the governing body's official waiver text, and Nordiq Canada membership forms include theirs. On the Edit Form page, click Add a Form Element and look under the preset fields. If your sport's waiver is listed, use it. See Preset Fields.

Add your own waiver

  1. On the Edit Form page, open the Individual Elements tab.
  2. Click Add a Form Element, then Create a Custom Element, and add a text display element. Paste in your waiver text.
  3. Directly below it, add a Checkbox field labelled something like "I have read and agree to the waiver above", and make it mandatory.
  4. If you also want a typed signature, add a text field such as "Type your full name".

Put the waiver in Individual Elements so that every person in a cart accepts it, not only the person paying. Each registrant's acceptance is saved with their registration and shows up in your reports.

For more about text and display elements, see Display Elements.

If your waiver is a PDF

Registration forms can hold images, but not PDF files. Put the PDF on your website or another file host, then link to it from a text element above your checkbox. See How do I link to a website from my Registration Form?

A third-party online waiver works the same way. Link to it, or show a QR code image, and ask registrants to complete it.

Walk-up and day-of registrations

For people registering on site, use kiosk mode on a laptop or tablet so they go through the same form and accept the same waiver. See Kiosk Mode.
