Switching a Serverbox to a new organization

Your serverbox MUST REMAIN CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THIS ENTIRE PROCESS. If the internet connection is lost while the organization is being switched, the serverbox may end up in an unusable state.

Finding Your Organization ID

If you are switching a serverbox to an organization that you are an administrator of, click on the club name in the Settings menu on your homepage to navigate to the organization settings page , and then copy the middle portion of the URL, excluding the slash on either end:

If zone4 staff have asked you to switch a serverbox to a different organization before shipping it somewhere, you should have been provided with a organization id to enter.

Assigning the serverbox to the new organization

Connect and sign in to your serverbox by following the instructions here, and then click the Manage Serverbox button.

From there, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click the Reassign Serverbox button.  Confirm that you really do want to assign the serverbox to a new organization and wipe all personal information off the hard drive, and then enter the organization ID to switch to.  When prompted and while the serverbox is connected to the internet, power off the serverbox, wait until the LEDs on the front panel turn off, then power it back on.  If you sign in to the serverbox again immediately after rebooting, it will initially look like nothing has happened.  About 5 minutes after it is rebooted, the server should display a red bar at the bottom of the screen to indicate that the connection has been lost. A minute or so after that, you will be redirected to the login screen.

When you are able to access the login screen again, that means it has been assigned to the new organization.  However, until an administrator auhorizes the serverbox to connect to their organization, the serverbox will not be able to connect to the internet or download any racer data.

Authorizing a Serverbox to connect to your organization

From your organization page, find the Serverboxes link near the top of the page (you may have to click the “More” button to see it).  If a serverbox has been assigned to your club but has not been authorized yet, you will see a prompt to authorize it.  Click the authorize button, and the serverbox will be able to connect to to the website and download any races that are set to sync to it.

After the serverbox is authorized, it needs to download your organization settings and any races that are marked to synchronize. It must be connected to the internet and may take 5-10 minutes before all the information is downloaded and the serverbox becomes usable.
